WHAT DOES CPR STAND FOR?

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a life-saving technique used when the heart stops beating.

HOW LONG DOES THE CPR CERITIFICATION LAST?

Most CPR Certifications are good for 2 full years. This includes most BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers). Conversely, Bloodborne Pathogens is a 1-year certification.

WHAT IS THE REFUND OR TRANSFER POLICY?

All classes require payment in full to reserve your spot. Cancellations the day before the day of class, no shows, and significantly late students will not receive a refund.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept any business checks, money orders, cashier checks. NO personal checks are accepted.

50% deposit is required 10 business days before the course date for groups of 6 or more participants. the remaining balance must be received no later than the course date for certification cards to issue. Payments can be made using venom at Damaris-encarnacionor cash app at $dms476.Personal checks are not accepted. Cancellations are non-refundable.

WHICH COURSE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

CPR training typically covers care for adult, child and infant cardiac and choking emergencies. AED (automated external defibrillator) training is included in all CPR classes.

Basic Life Support-BLS is for the Healthcare Provider: RN's, LPN's, CNA's, MD's or anyone who works in a healthcare environment.
Heartsaver courses are for everybody else: Personal Trainers, Teachers, Scout Leaders, Coaches, Corporate Safety personnel, new parents and anyone with an interest in learning CPR.
First Aid Training teaches you how to respond to several categories of emergencies: medical (cardiac, stroke), allergies, environmental (bites, stings, heat/cold related) and injuries (cuts, fractures).

WHAT IS BLENDED LEARNING?
Blended learning uses online technology not only to supplement but also to transform and improve the learning process. Successful blended learning can reach students with varying learning styles and in different environments. It is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session with an Instructor or using a voice-assisted manikin (VAM).

WHAT IS HEARTCODE BLS?
HeartCode BLS is the online portion of BLS blended learning. It uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, simulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills. After completing the online portion, students must attend a structured Instructor-led hands-on session that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR STUDENT ENTRY INTO A HEARTSAVER FIRST AID AND CPR AED HANDS-ON?
Upon successful completion of the online portion, students receive a certificate of completion, which they must present for entry into an Instructor-led hands-on session.

IS THERE A WRITTEN TEST THAT MUST BE COMPLETED FOR THE HEARTSAVER BLENDED LEARNING COURSES?
The AHA does not mandate completion of a written test for Heartsaver courses; however, an optional written test has been developed for Instructors to administer to students whose employers require completion of a written test. This test can be obtained by Training Center Coordinators, upon request, from the AHA Customer Support Center.
Instructors who need to issue the Heartsaver optional written test should issue it to students during the hands-on session of the course.

IS A SKILLS SESSION/TEST REQUIRED?
A hands-on skills practice session for first aid, CPR, and AED, and a skills test for CPR and AED skills are required. During the skills practice session, students have the opportunity for one-on-one time with an AHA instructor to ask questions, receive feedback, and gain confidence performing skills. A CPR and AED skills test with the instructor is the final step to earning a Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED Course Completion Card.

CAN TRAINING BE PROVIDED AT OUR LOCATION?

Yes! All of our classes typically take place at work sites. It can be difficult to find a class at a training center. That is why we bring the class to you. We have all the necessary practice equipment and are happy to bring it to your office. The minimum class size at your location is 4 students. We are also able to accommodate a small class at our home office in Hyattsville or Silver Spring, Maryland.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE CPR, FIRST AID OR AED CERTIFICATION?

If a student can understand the information and pass the written and skills testing, then he or she should be issued a certification card regardless of his or her age. Participants must be able to effectively deliver compressions for a period of time to be considered for certification. There are Friends and Family CPR classes for those who do not require a CPR Card.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO CLASS?

There are several things to consider bringing when getting ready to come to class.

A snack and/or a beverage, if you get hungry.
Wear comfortable clothing as you will be getting down on the floor to work on the manikins.
Avoid heavy perfumes or lotions for the comfort of all concerned.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATION CARD?

The AHA is now only awarding ecards for certification classes.

Cards are typically delivered to your email within 24 hours of completion of your class.
